Description: evergreen conifer (40-100 ft.) with blue-green to silvery needles (both leaf surfaces) massed on the upper surface of the twig and upright, purple-gray cones (2-4"). Subalpine fir is commonly found at high elevations in Oregon, but it will also grow at lower elevations. Slow-growing. Sun/part sun/shade tolerant, low-regular water, well-drained soil.
